Offering inexperienced and desperate young architects jobs working for free or less than minimum wage is plain immoral, unfair, and typically illegal. This blog will aim to end this practice by exposing the firms that unfairly treat their employees.

"architects who eat their young" is a blog that highlights architecture firms that think interns are cheap labor - really cheap labor. to quote their mission statement:

A recent visit to this blog's Google Analytics page provided me with an interesting little chart:
What is this spike in page views on December 8th? It turns out that 90% of the views came from 1 source: a google search for "googleplex goats", leading to a small post I made linking to the Official Google Blog post on how the company rents out goats to clear brush out on their land. Awesome, I have authority on the internet!
As a follow up to the story, here's a nice youtube video of those goats at work.

My favorite radio show (the only radio show) that I listen to is This American Life, hosted by one of my favorite journalists, Ira Glass. This week, they focus on college social life. More specifically, Penn State's "party scene". To quote Ira's Facebook Page update:

Ira writing here. So this week's show "#1 Party School" is one where we had an incredible abundance of great material. So great that the podcast version of the show is 10 minutes longer than the radio version. There's an entire extra story! It's Sunday as I'm posting this and I keep wondering if we should go in and add a second extra story. Anyway, hope you guys like the show. This show always does a great job at asking the right questions and providing input from the most interesting perspectives. The best story in the broadcast is where a reporter addresses how hard it is for the administration to handle the drinking problem. It's well worth the listen!

"Last month, stores that specialize in clothing and accessories for teenagers were the worst-performing sector in all of retailing, posting a 7.8 percent year-over-year sales decline, according to Thomson Reuters."

5 semesters, my how time has flown by!
It may seem like I have disappeared off the face of the virtual world lately, but I am back.
As I begin to think about graduation, I have begun to realize that I have a short amount of time left here. In my efforts to make the most of my semester, I have sacrificed quite a lot of sleep to make all my commitments throughout my mentally taxing semester. Here's a little peek into my life, the week of November 5th:
