    Remembering Michael Jackson

The undisputed King of Pop passed away earlier today. Here are a few impressive accomplishments that come to mind:

The most expensive music video ever made (7 Million Dollars, or $24,500 a SECOND)

And, of course, Thriller: the world's best selling album. (65+ million copies sold)

    Rest in Peace, Michael.

From the Dept. of "What is wrong with you?!"

Just like there are laws against animal cruelty, I think there should be a law against expensive gadget cruelty. Exhibit A:

Considering one can argue (in jest) that the iPhone is more valuable than a dog or cat, this is a horrible act of cruelty. After spending almost $1500 on an iPhone + service plan over the past 2 years, this person decided not to sell his phone on eBay or craigslist, were he easily could have made 4 or 500 dollars, and could have paid for the price of TWO Palm pre's.

Belkin shows first iPhone 3.0 accessory, mashes up GPS and FM data to pick the best TuneCast frequency

Most people who have the combination of an iPod and a car have to deal with cassette adapters or FM transmitters to output their music to their car's stereo. Belkin, maker of all wonderful things iPod related, has created a new TuneCast that one-ups the run-of-the-mill $5 FM transmitters.

Here's what Belkin's new iPhone FM transmitter does:
    1. Links into iPhone's GPS,
    2. combines your coordinates with their database of user's frequencies and locations,
    3. finds THE BEST FM frequency to pump out your tunes based on the database, and
    4. automatically sets the frequency with it's own iPhone app controlling the transmitter.

This is great for those of you in LA or NYC, where there are very few unused frequencies on the dial. Yes, you still have to change the dial on your dashboard to the number the TuneCast spits out, but it's proof that the new iPhone is more advanced than any blackberry, palm, or Windows Mobile smartphone on the market. Stay tuned for more review of accessories for the new iPhone v3 software in the near future.
